April 23 2000--"Magnetic North" Goes to AC Radio Beeb Birtles' "Relentless" peaked at the #2 position in New Music Weekly's charts Dec.13th and at #36 in FMQB, which prompted Sonic Sorbet to consider releasing a second single to radio. Credit promotion wizard Mr. Paul Crowley with convincing the label that it was worth the effort to get a second single out to AC. Paul, you truly are "relentless" and we love your enthusiasm!!!! April 6 2000--LONESTAR 93's Chris Knight Throws Huge Pete Benz CD Release Bash in Coupland, Texas On April 6th in Coupland, Texas, the walls shook as Pete Benz played before a packed house at Coupland Inn and Dance Hall. The party-thrown and hosted by Chris Knight for Lonestar 93, was a big success and many of Pete's radio friends were there. Michelle Lee Outlaw (host of "Country After Dark") from KASE / KVET, along with PD Bill Gregory of KRXT Rockdale, and Dusty Devine from Cumulus Broadcasting attended. LONESTAR 93 and KRXT both had "Win 'em before you can buy 'em" contests, which proved very popular with listeners. Producers Bill Cuomo and Beeb Birtles dropped in, along with Mark Anthony from Sonic Sorbet Promotions. Bill was shuttled to the stage by Pete to perform "Surprise" and "You're Right, I Left" with the band. All in all a great party!! Pete also threw a second release party at San Antonio's "Far West Rodeo" on Saturday, April 7th. Wiley Alexander from Country Music Express Magazine attended along with hundreds of Pete's fans and label personnel. Pete also did an in store at Waterloo Records and some on air "visiting" with friends Chris Knight, Bill Gregory and Sam and Bob on their KVET morning show to help promote the events. Thanks everyone for a GREAT TIME !!!!! Sonic Sorbet Inks Deal with FranceMP3 Sonic Sorbet Records has signed a deal with France's largest indie mp3 company, FranceMP3. Timing will be perfect for FranceMP3 and Sonic Sorbet to begin working together in the 21st century. For the first time in France, Sonic Sorbet artists, Beeb Birtles and Pete Benz, will be available. We look forward to bringing even more new music to our friends abroad. February 9, 2002 Beeb Birtles travels to Australia to reunite with original Little River Band Members! Beeb will spend the next 3 months "down under" rehearsing and gigging with his former band mates Glenn Shorrock and Graeham Goble. Those three voices are what gave Little River Band their unique vocal blend and led them to major prominence in the late 70's and early 80's. His 3 month absence will leave label partner Bill Cuomo at the helm and surely keep them both quite busy. Good Luck Beeb!! February 15, 2002 Pete Benz ends week on WACO 100 as the "Reigning Champ" with his newest song, "I See What You're Saying". Just call him "the champ"!! WACO 100 listeners phoned in their votes and voted Pete Benz over Alan Jackson ("Drive") Shannon Brown and others all week long. Following the success of his first three singles from "Hold Your Horses," Pete Benz has been hitting Texas hard, promoting his latest song, "I See What You're Saying", which will be on his upcoming summer CD. Included in his list of venues was a party for the governor of Texas and a big bash for Zack Owen of WACO 100.
