SonicSorbet.com was conceived in late 1998 by music veterans Bill Cuomo and Beeb Birtles, following their reunion in Nashville 15 years after Cuomo's guest appearance on Little River Band's "Time Exposure" LP. The idea of an independent label and production company grew from discussions regarding the state of consultant driven radio and narrower music formats. The two launched Sonic Sorbet Records during the summer of 1999 as an Internet label plus production service offering artists wishing to make either a "pitch CD" or a full length album the opportunity to do so at reasonable rates.

2004 marked the shift in efforts towards being primarily a production company, which is what we do best. Our original intent in 1998, although well conceived, was a bit early and ahead of the curve. Today however, dot coms are as common as phone numbers and artists are looking more for their own product to sell online. That's where we come in. We have a complete and secure esells store where our catalog can be easily and readily purchased. Productions such as Britt Adams, Beeb Birtles, Pete Benz, Williams and Ree, Shamans Harvest, and Gretle are available there.

Both founding partners have extensive credits and "pedigree", being involved in sales of over 100 million records sold worldwide. Bill's keyboard & arranging work with artists such as Kim Carnes ("Bette Davis Eyes"--Record of the Year Grammy winner), Steve Perry's ("Oh Sherrie"--over 2 million airplays), Little River Band, Whitesnake, Alabama, Faith Hill, Steve Wariner, plus many others, along with Beeb's pioneering vocal & writing work with the Little River Band ("Happy Anniversary", "Reminiscing"--over 4 million airplays, "Lady" etc.), give us a rich heritage and firm focus on bringing quality first.
